Usually we can get them in a 2-3 months.  The recollection from my colleague (I 
wasn’t there) was that this person claimed he could get them done in a few 
weeks due to his contacts with the railroads.  I think it’s possible.  There’s 
a certain amount of “name grading” that happens with permits and such.  “Oh an 
application from <consultant guy>?  Put it through, he knows what he’s doing.”  
Or conversely, “An application from Adam Moffett?  He’s a total idiot, double 
check everything.”

I’m not saying that’s what happens, but I’m saying it sounds plausible.  
Plausible enough that I’d pay the guy at least once to see whether he’s full of 
crap.

 

That’s all assuming he’s not a figment of my buddy’s imagination.

No one is going to guarantee you a few weeks.  It could potentially be that, 
though.


FiberSmith does a lot of permits and works with those mobsters, I would start
