That's pretty insightful. A psychologist today would probably frame in the autism spectrum, and the two camps would be called "neurotypical" and "neurodivergent", but otherwise it would be pretty much the same advice. The tact filter is probably more intuitive, and it doesn't give the impression that there's something wrong with the nerds.
