I think Ronnie would be confused if he were reincarnated in today’s political landscape, like one of those movies where someone comes out of suspended animation 50 years in the future. Maybe like the Woody Allen movie Sleeper where in the future chocolate and fat are health foods.

As far as BEAD, even without a DOGE department, a lot of people might agree that BEAD is way too big and a waste of taxpayer money. But is it too late to get the genie back in the bottle? Normally I would think so. But the next administration is promising a lot of things that I would normally think are too outside the box, so maybe BEAD could get cancelled or at least get a severe haircut.
