I won’t understand your math stuff because, due to starting high school in
1963, I was subjected to the “new math”. Which was deemed a failed experiment.
Because it taught abstract concepts like set theory and bases other than 10
rather than useful things like memorizing multiplication tables. Little did
they know that in the future people would have calculators and smartphones. So
they could solve difficult math problems like what’s 2 items at 50 cents each.

The strange thing is I don’t remember new math being controversial at the time.
Maybe I was prejudiced because my 9th grade math teacher was a looker. Think
Opie’s teacher on the Andy Griffith Show.

Anyway, don’t expect me to understand your quadratic equations since I’m from
the “Johnny can’t add” generation. Supposedly. And hey, my name’s not Johnny!

There it is, the solution to a quadratic equation. I remember chanting this
formula to my self over and over many many years ago.

=(B5+(SQRT((B5*B5)-(4*B2*B1))))/2
