We had 8.  Free range kids.  Lost one to a car wreck when he was 11.  Of the 7 remaining, 4 work full time with me.  One does part time work for the company.  Two stay a bit distant and one is totally estranged which is largely to marrying a very narcissistic man.  So half of my kids pretend to like me.  Not a bad yield for a one off experiment where I had no clue as to what I was doing.

My neighborhood is getting resettled by young couples with young kids, and I look at how much work they put in and can’t believe we managed to raise 2 kids.
