I was living in San Diego when the cult offed themselves. My buddy moved to town the week after, and we were in a bar downtown chatting up some girls. He told them he had just moved to town but he was really sad because he broke down on the way, and all his friends that he was supposed to catch a ride with left him. Said they had probably seen it in the news. It took them a minute, but they finally got it an made some excuse to end the conversation. We got a good laugh, though.
