I have an Aviat radio on a tower where we took the other end of the link down.  It won't be coming back, but I don't have an immediate need to move the link to another location.  If I just power the radio down, and leave it on the tower, do I have a potential risk to frying the radio from lightening?

It's DC Powered, with a Cat5 and Fiber running to it.  I may at some point in the future throw a link to another location from this tower, so I don't want to take it down, and then possibly have to put it up again.  But I don't want it to get fried just sitting up there.

Lightening does what it wants, but is it more attracted to things that are running?  Are powered up electronics more susceptible to damage?
