I think the state broadband office's interactive online map has everything I need, I just need to overlay it on something that shows the roads and towns better. Like Nate posted. It seems like despite the black background, you can use it as a layer in Google Earth.
Interesting, looking at the map, BEAD still doesn't really achieve fiber for all. The least densely populated areas still get left behind (or stuck with satellite). It's just the latest phase of cherry picking. Also, as I predicted, private money is building FTTH in the small towns that have overpriced cable. Compete on price, eat the cable company's lunch, and no worries about BEAD overbuilding you because gigabit cable made the area ineligible. -----Original Message----- From: AF <[email protected]> On Behalf Of Chris Fabien Sent: Thursday, November 13, 2025 9:29 AM To: AnimalFarm Microwave Users Group <[email protected]> Subject: Re: [AFMUG] converting BEAD awards map You also have to make sure you are using the same version of the location/framework data that was used in the state's application/award process or you'll end up with many locations not matching or missing.
