Maybe movie ticket prices have come down?  It was the only show of the day, so maybe it counted as a matinee.  I was just checking the same theater, looks like First run films (Zootopia 2) are $12.75 for IMAX, $14 for 'Real D 3D' and $10.75 for normal show. But it looks like different shows have different prices.  Wicked2 IMAX is $14.75

How did you score $5.50 tickets?  I haven’t been to a movie theater in maybe 20 years, but I remember admission prices going crazy.

The little theater in Glen Ellyn has all the first run movies, I should probably try it because it’s something like a 5 block walk from my house.  When we moved here, they hadn’t divided it into multiple theaters yet.  As a kid I remember going to the theater in LaGrange and sitting in the balcony.  I think some of the movies we saw there included Bambi and Babes in Toyland, probably some other Disney movies.

We so seldom go to the theaters so this is exciting to be able to post one.  Fackham Hall.   Think Naked Gun meets Downton Abbey.  Well worth the $5.50 we paid for admission, But you have to like British humor.  Will be getting the dvd when it comes out to see what visual gags I missed.
