It's weird for me. The bosses son is buying out the company Jan 1, and we are making a massive direction and vision shift.
First step was to make me able to be hit by a bus. Being of the beating will continue until morale improves generation, I of course assumed that meant I needed to get my role migration ready to my replacement. Second step is to isolate all my role components that can be automated or delegated and take them off my plate, so of course its definitely pink slip. During the first preliminary one on one, I'm of course justifying my existence and breaking down my day and he cuts me off and starts telling me about how hes not wanting my 9 to 5 or 40 hour work week, doesnt care if I make 40 and that as long as we are meeting our vision metrics. He basically just wants my brain. It's a strange new world for this old dog and im not that old. I was planning a 60 to 80 hour weekly commit on the new vision atop my current role and im being told 40 might not be necessary. What is this world coming to where you can have a work life balance. Completely unacceptable rocking of the boat occurring. What's the point in having gone to salary if that can't be abused. The whole point of a salary is to take advantage of staff and pay them less for the hours they work if they were on hourly with OT.
