I found our old RaQ550 in a stack of servers we never got around to sending to recycling. Along with a DS10 Alphaserver (ran OpenVMS) that we used as a RADIUS server. I know the Raq550 was followed by BlueQuartz on a 1U server with an LCD panel maybe from MSI but I can’t find the server or any paperwork on it. Since 2014 we’ve been running BlueOnyx on a Supermicro 4 core Xeon server. We only ever used them as webservers.

We had a RaQ, a RaQ3, a RaQ550, then BlueQuartz, and now BlueOnyx. Looks like Cobalt Networks was founded 30 years ago and released the original RaQ in 1998. Sun bought them, shut them down, and released the software under an open source license. Oracle then kind of did the same thing to Sun. -- AF mailing list [email protected] <mailto:[email protected]> http://af.afmug.com/mailman/listinfo/af_af.afmug.com
