That's what they do now. But each TV is a separate stream and bandwidth. So for live sports, maybe around 9 Mbps per TV for 1080p Full HD, 25 Mbps per TV for 4K Ultra HD. Watch on 3-4 TVs and that can add up.
I guess also I was raised not to leave the water running, or leave the front door open with the A/C running, so it seems wasteful. (We were even told to eat everything on our plate and think of starving children in Bangladesh.) With OTA TV you just had a coax splitter and watched on as many TVs as you wanted. Seems like we're in peak sports season at the moment. I get people saying they are streaming the same game on several TVs at the same time, and I suspect they don't want to be able to separately pause/rewind/fastforward each TV, they just want to watch like old fashioned "linear TV". But in multiple rooms, or on multiple screens at their watch party. Now, the people on fiber probably don't care if they are wasting bandwidth, but for some it does matter. Does anyone here know if there is a way to use an external streaming device (Roku, Fire TV, Google Streamer, Onn, Apple TV, etc.) and route the HDMI output to more than one screen? I'm envisioning that whoever has the remote for the streaming stick or box would control the stream for all the TVs. If I search on Amazon, I see HDMI switches and splitters. A switch won't work, but it sounds like a splitter would, like this? https://www.amazon.com/MT-ViKI-Splitter-Power-Adapter-Mirror/dp/B07T67CLB7 Only problem now is getting HDMI to another room.
