I don't believe the distance rating should make any difference as long as
your link is shorter than the lesser of the two.  Most of the SFPs that
I've been getting are 10km. The only catch might be if the receive
threshold is low enough on the 5km unit that the transmitter on the 10km
unit will saturate it.
