I have a Tycon web monitor ( http://tyconpower.com/Support/support_TPDIN-Monitor-WEB.htm ) at a site where I have this same issue -- I never know when the AC is out until the batteries die. I wrote a custom nagios check that polls for one of the voltage levels and will trigger an alert if it drops below a voltage threshhold.
