External gain is over and above the 10db internal antenna. You're telling it you have a total of 45dbi of antenna gain....So I'm guessing you have 5.4ghz unit, which has a +30db legal EIRP limit.....hence -15 as your max tax power. If you have a 35dbi dish, you set "external gain" to 25. IMO you're doing the right thing with the big antenna....you're much better off getting to the EIRP limit with antenna gain than tx power because the antenna helps you in both directions. I would say that's wrong for a reflector?
