So I'm stationed at Great Lakes... near Gurnee, IL. Hour and a half drive home. They give me GreyHound bus tickets... three days. No thanks, I took the suburban commuter train from just outside the base to downtown Chicago, then from downtown Chicago to a 30 minute drive from my house. Cost me like $10 to save three days of travel. ----- Mike Hammett Intelligent Computing Solutions http://www.ics-il.com ----- Original Message ----- From: "Mike Hammett via Af" <[email protected]> To: [email protected] Sent: Friday, November 7, 2014 1:31:42 PM Subject: Re: [AFMUG] SAF North America will be Out of the Office on Veteran's Day Navy. November 26, 2000 - January something 2001. Nuclear Engineering. They pulled me during service week (week 6). There where three branches of nuclear engineering. I wanted electrical, but they gave me mechanical. They said none were harder\easier than the others. The week I was to pick subs or carriers is when I was pulled. I hadn't made the decision yet. The nuc guys got special treatment the whole way. We were always getting pulled to the other side of the base for special meetings. It seemed that's when the worst of the PT happened. ----- Mike Hammett Intelligent Computing Solutions http://www.ics-il.com ----- Original Message ----- From: "josh--- via Af" <[email protected]> To: [email protected] Sent: Friday, November 7, 2014 1:21:50 PM Subject: Re: [AFMUG] SAF North America will be Out of the Office on Veteran's Day I never knew that.
