Both are hard.  VPNs can move quite a bit, depending on if it's a single
machine or not.  Depending on if they are moving files, or syncing files
from a file server etc.  RPD is the same thing, under normal operations
a 512k connection is more than enough, but you can move sound, files
though the RDP to the local machine as well as printing, those eat up
quite a bit more and can't be separated as its all in the single RDP
session.
