Yeah we use them a lot.  It's hard to explain how I do it, but there's a
bit of a trick to it.  Basically I put one end, print side down, on the tip
of my index finger (so it will make a little U shape) and hold it down with
the thumb of same hand.  The I push down with my other hand thumb nail and
sweep across it until I can catch the middle split edge and get it started.
