AP simply on without stations is nearly no noise
AP with an SM associated is a bit more noise, but it's just beacons and
whatever broadcast traffic
AP with an SM passing traffic (speed test, real customer traffic, etc) will
be the best way to introduce noise.

If you want to go full throttle plug the AP into the SM (so it creates a
bridge loop)
