Wait until you get to Russian names.
All Russian names have a nickname that goes with them… and most of them don’t make any sense to me… well how they are a nickname. Alexandra and Sasha is a good example in the link below. http://goeasteurope.about.com/od/russianculture/tp/russiannames.htm In Latvia (and it appears Russia too) the last names are spelled differently for male and females as well. For instance, my predecessor Kristaps Rikans wife’s last name is Rikane.
