I agree with Chuck.
If it's on a membrane, then you most assuredly do not want to damage
it. Some are more sensitive than others, so depending on the vintage, I
might even put a pad between the non-pen and the membrane. Then put on
your weights, then sprinkle the removed rock around the whole thing.
