Several of us at dinner last night discussed possibly a "roundtable" approach
maybe towards the end of the show.
Someone moderate an open ended discussion about what kind of problems we are
encountering to be the worst.

For example, a problem I see coming down the pipe is once we get fiber to
everyone's home, how do we give the
customer as much bandwidth as possible to their wireless devices - especially
with comcast modems around us
polluting the wifi spectrum.

Or I'm doing fiber in a college town. Lot of kids....they encourage their rich
parents to buy them the latest and greatest
$260 dollar linksys AC router - and there are 30 of them in my building that I
pickup while doing a scan - - so none of
them work. How do you deal with that.

Open ended discussions like that. Since AFMUG is mostly a technical show, I
think we should try to solve tech problems.
WISPA has a similar discussion for both CEO (business) and technical
roundtables....but AFMUG is kind of its own family.

Yep, thinking of a bit of a focus on products that are beyond our demarc.
Like the last 100 foot problem. Perhaps a Powerline networking shootout or
wifi repeater shootout. Or advanced spectrum analysis sweeps of homes or
optimum router placement etc.

It is a problem that is only going to get worse.

Thanks for coming everyone. Tell us what you want to eat and see next year.

You are welcome! Plans are already being discussed for Animal Farm 10.
