You're not wrong at all....but it's a matter of what they're trying to do with the VoIP. If they're trying to replace a landline then they'd better explain the delay to everybody.

Yeah, my opinion is the impact of latency on VoIP quality has been blown out of proportion, especially given adaptive jitter buffers. Packet loss, out-of-order packets, etc. are much worse. But independent of technology, there is a perception issue when latency gets that high. You either compensate by waiting until you’re sure the other person is done talking, or you feel that you are always talking over each other and backing off. I see this sometimes even on VoIP-to-cellphone calls, with lots less than 700 ms of latency.

    If you exceed 150GB, which nobody ever does according to their
    literature, then they will have a talk with you because 150GB is
    such a huge amount according to their literature.

    They did say they are putting up another satellite in 2016 which
    probably covers the areas they missed with the existing satellite.

    They are also offering voice for $10 per month.
