I’m okay with them as backhauls. However, I just want the option to use
multiple manufacturers for future flexibility which is why I stay 802.11
compatible to begin with. Mimosa has 4x4 sectors coming out that support GPS
for example and another company already has 8.8. I want the option to change
if I decide to but don’t’ want to forklift an entire network to do it.

There is no cross-compatibility. However, I have been running some core
backhauls on them for a month now without a single hiccup and I am blown away
at their performance. I have backups in place since they currently require
beta software, but I am getting ready to take down the backups.

That answers the question of using them in a new area then. 802.11n it is ☺.
I want compatibility mode. I don’t want to be locked in.
