[AFMUG] OT: Obtaining a Failed Business Phone Number

A local Business failed. The owner packed up shop and left.  One of my 
customers who does something similar want's to get those numbers.  Other 
than just trying to do a number port, is there a way to get those 
numbers?  I believe that the numbers are currently with Comcast.  I'm 
not holding my breath, but wondering if there was some trick.  Or any 
Caveats to watch out for.
