Mathew I cut open an ubnt poe and only thing I see where you could possibly connect power is right at the main power but as I see it there is Neutral and Live and Ground but see I only have 2 options that is ground and live.
So I might have go what you suggested because there is no way to add 24vdc to ubnt poe. If you cut open the UBNT poe, it is kind of divided into two parts, and it's fairly easy to see where you can connect 24VDC, but it's probably more practical to just use something like this: http://www.streakwave.com/itemdesc.asp?ic=POE-INJ-1000-S <http://www.streakwave.com/itemdesc.asp?ic=POE-INJ-1000-S&eq=&Tp=&o1=0> &eq=&Tp=&o1=0 or better yet, use this and get proper surge suppression: http://www.streakwave.com/Itemdesc.asp?ic=GIGE-POE <http://www.streakwave.com/Itemdesc.asp?ic=GIGE-POE&o1=0> &o1=0 On Tue, Apr 14, 2015 at 5:52 PM, Tim Reichhart <t...@nwohiobb.com> wrote: Mathew what I have right now on my custom made UPS is that I have 12v deep cycle battery from there it goes to an 24v step up converter so the ubnt radios can run normal wattage such. So, if I'm understanding this right, you want to take a UBNT poe and connect it to a (different) 24v DC source? If so, it's possible (I have done it), but not a great idea... there are plenty of options for gigabit DC poe injectors that don't require chopping things to little bits and soldering them back together.
