I never attach it to very top of leg. It goes in between where the Z cross bars give it support. Model 25g sections are not heavy enough to crush legs if you hoist nice and slow. The pole is as high as it can go on attachment. We use two to three ropes depending on height and breeze conditions. For heavier towers a crane would be used
