Weird reason?...

Subject: [AFMUG] PMP 450 Connectorized SM

I posed a question on our forum about the “pigtails” that come out of our
Connectorized SMs. I have gotten several requests from customers to have the
"pigtail" cables and connectors be modified to be longer so that different
types of antennas can be connected to the Connectorized PMP 450 Subscriber
Modules.

Please let me know if you think this would be beneficial for you, and exactly
how long you need the cable to be.

As you may know, the longer the cable, the more signal loss, so we'd like to
only make it as long as is necessary.

Please respond in the thread (link below) with your opinion, as we are actively
investigating making a change for the PMP 450 Connectorized SMs.

If (for some weird reason) you don’t want to do it on our forum site, feel free
to respond here… really looking to get the length right.

Thanks,

Matt

Yes. Our customers only talk about speedtest. They dont need the speed most of
the time.

Our average is below 1Mbit per customer at peak time.

The average user only pulls 6 Mbps on NetFlix night and a lot more than that
most of the time. But when they see 50Mbps coming down during their speedtest,
they are thrilled and brag to their neighbors. That’s your best salesperson.

Why do you think you need un-capped? If you have 10 clients on the AP pulling
un-capped speeds all at the same time whats going to happen? More than likely
they will all get a speed equivalent or less than what the 10meg SM's will do
so that's why I am buying 10 meg SM's.

I know with burst 20Mbit gives a better customer experience than just 20MBit.

But the 20Mbit capped is still >2 times the mimosa price.

I dont argue if it is worth the money. I just cant make the business model work.

I guess the bigger Wisps get a very different price to make their business
model work.

You should discuss withsoon someone experienced with 450 if you really need
uncapped.

Just wondered if PMP450 lite brings this system in a price range

which allows us to use it. The APs are affordable but the offer for the
