What speeds do you need? If 100 Mbps is adequate, there are bidi SFP transceivers for MMF. However, I have never seen any rated for MMF use at GigE or higher.
I've done several 1310nm over MMF applications using mode conditioning on two strands. However, mode conditioning is directional and won't work for bidi applications. Mode conditioning aligns the SMF core offset at just the right amount to allow 1310nm to propagate across MMF (up to 2km), but doesn't do anything on the receive end. In a bidi-application where you would want to place conditioning on both ends, you would be transitioning from SMF to MMF in each direction (OK), but then at the far end would transition back to singlemode without any core alignment (Not OK) and the signal would be lost in the SMF cladding.
