I have recently built a custom NVR box. It is on an old HP proliant microserver
we had sitting around. Specs are 2 core CPU 2.0 Ghz, 4 GB RAM, 2 TB HD. I have
14 cameras installed on it recording motion and storing it for 4 weeks. The
hard drive stays around 400GB used. Mix of cameras installed. Some old
AirVision, a couple of UVC and one UVC pro. Installed Ubuntu Server and
installed the Unifi Video and mFI software on the same server. Everything is
working great so far. CPU Load is about 25%.
