I don't know for certain, but I would think one satellite could do it for timing alone. Two for sure. Three will give you a 2D fix and 4 will give you a 3D fix.

What is the minimum amount of satellites needed for a proper GPS sync pulse?
And does that differ across products (CMM, CTM, SyncPipe, etc.)?
