Ok,
I am asking both lists about what I am about to do.
I have a fairly large network I am about to do OSPF on.
The network is well routed statically but they need some room to grow
and easily add or remove
routes as needed.
The current network has a public net and a managed net both on same
broadcast domains.
IE: one interface may have 1.1.1.x/26 and 10.1.1.x/26
So, what I would like to do is move the managed to a vlan to separate
it from the public network.
the next step would be to configure ospf
Topology is all or mostly wireless with one edge to serve the whole network.
It has a good mesh of connections and most of the ring is only used when
a spoke link goes out. I think OSPF would help here as well.
I am just not sure where or how to start this because they have some
towers that are slaves on the outer ring.
I guess my question for OSPF configuration would be: Do I need to make
everything inside the ring a single area or
would I be better off by setting up areas within the ring?
Any ideas or past dos or donts would be helpful
