You should try to figure out as to Why this link is running like crap.... 
Is it due to dirty channel or something else ?

If you take a poor preforming RM5 and put an AF5x on that same channel, don't 
expect magic to happen.

If you have a nice clean channel and are able to get a good SNR (25+ close to 
30) then pound for pound you will be able to pass more bits thru the 802.11AC 
radio vs 802.11n.

If you are needing channel flexibility then you can select the appropriate 
product.. But figure out what is the issue before just changing the radio..
