There’s definitely lots of usage for Squid but with cheaper bandwidth and more 
obstacles I’d say that a lot less small ISP’s (or office networks) use them.  
Varnish is much better anyways in my opinion….

 

They are still used quite a bit though for content filtering too … not just 
caching….
