I have repelled down hills and trees as adult. As punk kid we repelled down Piggly Wiggly escaping sheriff after we egged his car from roof of SOS TV among other targets. They could never figure out how we got up and down so quickly. Getting up we used truck fan belts looped to telephone pole and shimmied up with backs on wall.....getting down we used rope and repelling gear my pops got for us from surplus military store.
