I have never owned a gun, but I grew up with guns.
Enjoyed hunting as a youth.
I fully reserve the right to go buy a gun any time I want to.

I didn’t have guns. I had little kids.

I knew what I did every time I was left home alone... did not want my kids to
have that option.

Ahem. I can probably quote most of the best lines from it still and I don't own
a gun.
It was required reading for all Freshmen at the Jesuit high school i attended.
As far as I know lots of engineers and doctors came out of those early 70s
classes. Even a mayor! Seems like more youngsters with mental issues. We
had hippies and stoners but they were harmless. Even the pachucos used knives
or roll of quarters in fights. No guns until 90 s...and more phonies
nowadays....don't start writing about them. You might missed them. Even Maury

That guy in Oregon made statements right out of Catcher in the Rye.

I always felt that book was a good screening tool for high school boys. If
they loved the book, watch out. If they thought Holden was a sad character or
a loser, then they are probably going to turn out OK.
