I've gone to the extent of sweeping snow off the roof and drying off the mounting location with a heat gun......not often.

IMO, the biggest problem with a winter install has nothing to do with the weather. The biggest problem is when they're NLOS and you can't know for sure how much your signal is going to drop in the spring.
