I wonder what the chance of getting caught reusing your own 18 Ghz pair
multiple times within a 5 mile radius would be.... not that anyone would
ever actually try that....

Not in the licensed point-to-point bands (4,6,10.5,11,18,23 GHz). You would
need to go to 24,28,31, or 38 GHz and lease from one of the "area" license
holders.
