Anything 802.3at compliant should work just fine. Switch port, injector,
whatever.
We've installed some Exalt ExtendAir G2 radios which are also 3at
compliant. Nice low power consumption. The OEM injector is a Phihong
POE36U-1AT-R. I'm not sure if the -R means reverse polarity though.
Could be because power is on 1,2,3&6. We buy spares from here:
http://www.alliedelec.com/phihong-poe36u-1at-r/70124112/
That one you linked shows 4/5+, 7/8-. I'm not sure if the 450i will do
both types or if it expects power on certain pairs, or all pairs. I
believe the 3at standard says the compliant powered device should take
either. There's always those non-standard standards though. :(

so based on what George said this will work?

It's 3at on the input and 3af on the secondary port output. You
might be able to get away with a 3af supply for the input which is
15W if you're not using the second output, but then again, the
450i 5GHz SM itself uses >14W, IIRC, so it'd be close.

Which specific variant of 450i SM?
I’m pretty sure I read that at least for the 900 MHz version,
it could be powered from a standard 29.5V Canopy POE. Which
obviously is important if you are swapping out existing FSK
customers.
This may not be true for the 5 GHz variant, I don’t know.
Obviously these things don’t consume 60 watts or even 30
watts, but there’s also the pinout and gigabit issues.

Doesn't the 5ghz 450i need 48v? They're supposed to be
802.3at compliant, so there's gotta be something cheaper than
$80 out there.

what is the part number for the POE to use with the SMs?
our vendor is telling us to use the PTP650 POE adapter
(which works) but it's (MSRP) $80 + $20 for the USA AC
cord. something ain't right!?!?
this is what were were told to use:
N000065L001B PTP650 Spare AC Power Injector (Old P/N
N000065L001A) $80.00
N000065L003A PTP650 Spare US Power Line Cord Fig 8 $20
isn't there a ~$20 POE solution for the 450i SMs??? The
manual listed the same PTP650 POE adapter :-/
Thanks,
Sean
