Actually, just to correct a little bit… The AUX port on the 450i radios is actually 802.3at as well. This means that you could potentially use a device that draws up to 30W of power.
The 450i radio itself typically draws ~17W, but depending on cable length can (worst case) draw up to 19W. As George says, any 802.3at supply should work, and I know the one we have right now is over-priced (if you’re not using the AUX port). As I fed back to you off line, Sean, we will have the new supply, N000000L034A, which is 802.3at ($35 MSRP), and will work with the N000900L007A AC Line cord ($5 MSRP). This should be available in January. In cases where you’ll want to support PoE out to another device on the AUX port (i.e. power hungry PoE camera, or a second AP, etc.), you can use the 60W PoE which is cited below. I'm gonna give the planet one a try, I'll report back with the results. Hopefully cambium will chime in with a solution too. -Sean On Thursday, December 3, 2015, George Skorup <[email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>> wrote: Anything 802.3at compliant should work just fine. Switch port, injector, whatever. We've installed some Exalt ExtendAir G2 radios which are also 3at compliant. Nice low power consumption. The OEM injector is a Phihong POE36U-1AT-R. I'm not sure if the -R means reverse polarity though. Could be because power is on 1,2,3&6. We buy spares from here: http://www.alliedelec.com/phihong-poe36u-1at-r/70124112/ That one you linked shows 4/5+, 7/8-. I'm not sure if the 450i will do both types or if it expects power on certain pairs, or all pairs. I believe the 3at standard says the compliant powered device should take either. There's always those non-standard standards though. :( On 12/3/2015 6:50 PM, Sean Heskett wrote: so based on what George said this will work? http://planetechusa.com/ieee-802-3at-gigabit-high-power-over-ethernet-injector-mid-span.html On Thu, Dec 3, 2015 at 5:15 PM, George Skorup <[email protected]<javascript:_e(%7B%7D,'cvml','[email protected]');>> wrote: It's 3at on the input and 3af on the secondary port output. You might be able to get away with a 3af supply for the input which is 15W if you're not using the second output, but then again, the 450i 5GHz SM itself uses >14W, IIRC, so it'd be close. I’m pretty sure I read that at least for the 900 MHz version, it could be powered from a standard 29.5V Canopy POE. Which obviously is important if you are swapping out existing FSK customers. This may not be true for the 5 GHz variant, I don’t know. Obviously these things don’t consume 60 watts or even 30 watts, but there’s also the pinout and gigabit issues.
