We have a MySQL database that radius uses to auth the user/pass combo. I wrote 
a store procedure to figure all the stuff out for returning the appropriate 
policy-map, static IP or dynamic pool, and other radius return attributes. We 
use Radiator for Radius, but the only reason is we’ve been using it forever and 
I’m too lazy to switch to freeradius.
