The Calix rep I met last month showed me the NG-PON2 information.

Very cool.

Definitely something I would use when I am able to purchase at Qnty.

At the moment though I can still do 10Gbps per subscriber FDX with standard 
SFP+ gear for relatively cheap.

But I like the consolidation factor and scale-ability of this GPON standard!

There are two: XGPON and NG-PON2. Huawei and a few others have XGPON. It's kind 
of a dead end.

NG-PON2 is the hot shit, as its capable of 10-40Gbps.

Calix has gear they are developing for NG-PON2, ad well as Adtran and I believe 
ALU.
