Can’t go above, park land.  A mile would actually be fine if that’s the case.  
Are Yagi’s necessary for that distance?

those are the worst kind of trees for 900Mhz because the pine needles are very 
similar to the wave length.

i'd guess you could still go a mile or two if the noise floor is decent (pine 
trees will probably help the noise floor ;)

if you can get up high above the trees then the path thru the trees is much 
shorter.
