They are almost completely separate from the rest of Vivint as far as I can tell.
Vivint Solar was probably hammered because of the failed merger and its associated crap on the Sun Edison side. This is good news for Vivint Solar and does show that they can trade on their cash flow and business model for financed debt. If I were them I still wouldn't feel comfortable with the lease model though. It seems to me if they get into enough long term 20+ year leases and the state/fed/utils decide to change their current tax structuring or competitive stance, it could level whole market segments of Vivint Solar. They appear to be trading on the good winds of subsidy fortunes and lack of utility competition right now. I wonder if that will last, and how long until the utilities legislate them out of business, or simply undersell them out of contract etc. From: Af [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Rory Conaway Sent: Wednesday, March 23, 2016 6:31 PM To: [email protected] Subject: [AFMUG] Interesting article http://247wallst.com/energy-business/2016/03/22/vivint-solar-secures-200-million-loan/?
