I tend to agree with this, I’m more looking to have on paper the classic ‘don’t
hack, don’t look at porn, don’t play video games, don’t go on a vulgar rant on
the company site, etc.’. I think I have a decent document lined out that
covers that though. That’s the thing though, being an ISP, you are promoting
the use of technology in your company, but then have to turn around and
regulate the do’s and don’t’s of it, at the same time making sure the don’t’s
aren’t going to restrict someone from doing their job.

Subject: Re: [AFMUG] Technology Use Policy

I highly encourage our employees to over use technology so that we can stay
ahead of our customers.

Seriously tho, we have never in 15 years had to tell someone to not surf the
web or Facebook or whatever. I'd rather tackle it individually than on a whole
if it ever was an issue.

I think the more they are allowed to explore the Internet the smarter it makes
them with everything we do.

Anyone have a nice Technology Use Policy for their employees they would be
willing to share? Working on a policy for our company and in doing research,
some out there are too simple, others seem overly complex, figured as I
continue to write ours I’d at least ask if any WISP has one that is
WISP-centric.
