Icom are affordable and have good range...you can even get a repeater for decent price and increase range....we installed some VHF ones a few years ago in hunting ranch with lots of hills and valleys....95% Coverage..... they just ordered 12 more handhelds...before Lewis scolds me... they are easier on your pocket when they are dropped off tower.. hit me off list if want contact for pricing.
