Group C low power nation-wide is not coordinated.

The only Baofeng with any cert is the UV82C, which is certified for use in Part 90 land mobile. Business itinerant is locally coordinated and you are issued specific freq's to use. The band is shared, but freq's are not, George is incorrect. I proved this link <http://wireless.fcc.gov/services/index.htm?job=licensing_3&id=industrial_business>to the FCC site earlier, but my email may get eaten by spam since this list breaks dmarc.

Nope, you need a business itinerant license to use the
itinerant channels. I believe it falls under Part 90 LMR.
There's no frequency coordination because obviously everything
is shared. WISPs should be used to that though.

There are dozens of schools and stuff around here that bought
and use radios and never bothered to get a license. Whatever.

Not for iterant frequencies I think.

related question.... do these require a license ?

if yes, what is involved in getting one ?

            Thanks.

The Baofung are actually decent for something like
tower work as they are so cheap I'd they are dropped
you dobby even have to look for it. Be careful to
get the fcc certified ones as not all are certified
                that are sold here.

You can get a 6pk of those on Amazon for $80.

But me personally, I use my Wouxun UV8D. Dual
band is nice so I can monitor NOAA weather radio,
local VHF public safety dispatch, etc.

BAOFENG. Cheap and work decent. You can get
headsets and other accessories. No bluetooth.

                            Hi

We have been using two way radios
(consumer grade) by Motorola. It is ok
to use but we are looking to get
somethings better which makes it easy for
                            tower crew to use.

No days when we go to some department
stores or Apple Store etc. all the
employees their have nice head set and
small talk button to speak. It would be
good to have Bluetooth on them so person
on the top can talk with ease.

                            Any suggestions?
