If the total storage capacity is 12TB and it's a video recording system,
rsync over a 1000BaseT-to-1000BaseT cat5e patch cable between two systems
could work fine. Rsync will only transfer the files that have changed. Set
it up on a nightly cron job to run at 0200 in the morning, you might see
less than half a TB transferred per day.

If the RAID arrays on both end can sustain 75 to 90MB/s sequential reads
and writes a single GbE connection should be more than adequate for a
middle of the night sync.
