I have been thinking about this as well.  I believe that with four 12v
batteries you can pull off 24v and 48v and send up tower with 3 conductors
(common negative and separate hots) then all you need is a battery charger
at the bottom with the ability to charge / supply necessary current for
normal operations.  This would prevent all the costs associated with
inverters etc and would be clean (no switch time when power fails).  Our
solar sites run so much better than commercial power sites its amazing how
good clean power makes such a difference.

 

This should work right?

What is the latest and greatest everyone is using?

Want to push 24V or 48V up tower + have integrated battery backup.

 

Right now everything is separated and independent of each other. Takes up
too much space.  Those days are over.  I want something simple, compact and
not to concerned about price.
