It's crazy how names get modified between languages and years.

You trace "Reynolds" back and you end up finding a Rognvald Ragnarsson who
was one of something like 14 children of Ragnar Lodbrok Sigurdsson in
Denmark. Modifications of that name spread into France, Norway, Ireland,
Scotland, England and Wales, Germany, etc. Many settled in Ireland, figured
it a nice place (after raiding it over and over of course). There's still a
county there called Leitrim that has a very large population with the same
name. *Shrug*
